Keeping the Five Precepts

1. Not killing
2. Not lying
3. No stealing
4. No sexual activity
5. Not using alcohol and drugs or intoxicants such as cigarettes*.

Plus: the use of music is restricted to healing or liturgical purposes. Singing, whistling, humming and playing of an instrument or radio/mp3/cd players can be disturbing also somebody during his/her meditation. Be understanding, use headphones in your room.

Dressing code and behaviour:

When planning your clothing for visiting the Ashram, let your respect for monastic environment guide you. Tight-fitting or other provocative clothes are not acceptable at the Centre. If you are attending meditations or any other course at the Ashram, we ask you to respect certain Buddhist principles,

* Stand respectfully when teachers enters the room and wait to be sitted,

* Please do not point your feet at the Altar or the teacher

* Please speak softly and quietly, in case someone is meditating

* If your body becomes uncomfortable while sitting in a class, please change your body position mindfully, so as not to disturb other students.
