History of the houseMedicine Buddha House is an old ashram set in a large garden and surrounded by a wooden area. It seems that the house has always offered healing to those who seek it. In the past, it was used as a rehabilitation centre for those who had too much of the Goa party scene. Even last year, we had people come to say hello who offered their services during this time, or came for help and gratefully received it. |

Each of our rooms is a basic monastic style accommodation with a wooden bed, a mattress and a mosquito net. They are large and spacious and can accommodate two people easily. They all have a private veranda with seating area leading out on to the garden for you to enjoy your own peace and quiet.
We have a large garden with strolling cows, an old garden shed (used to be the bathroom area). The toilets block is away from the house and Indian style (squatting) and we use buckets of water for flushing.

It is a square building with an inner open courtyard which is surrounded by a corridor giving access to each rooms. The floor of the house is entirely tiled.

You can stroll in the park (mind the cows!) for meditation, or help Anesh, the gardener. From behind the gompa you can even see the fort in the background !! |
